All of us here at the Hot Zone Online wish our readers a very happy Thanksgiving holiday!
We know that things have been pretty slow around here in terms of posting lately, but we expect things to pick up a bit in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more reviews and news from the world of hot sauces and spicy fare!!!

Well, the job hunt for us continues, this time with a trip to the Keystone State of Pennsylvania. Joe will be interviewing for an anesthesiology job in State College, PA State College, also known as Happy Valley, happens to be the home of Penn State University. Since we live with a matter of minutes of the Ohio State University, it seems like we’re just touring the Big Ten Conference for job possibilities. Not true…but it makes for an interesting joke. More news when we return later this weekend.

One visit to the Evergreen State done, one now to go. My post-residency job search continues in the Pacific Northwest with a pair of interviews in the Puget Sound area. So, my tired and jet-lagged self will be landing tomorrow morning in sunny Seattle/Tacoma where I’ll start my 3-day adventure in the land of good coffee, grunge music, and hopefully…anesthesiology jobs. I’ll take plenty of pics, I hope, so I’ll be reporting on my adventures when I get back after my red-eye flight back into Columbus this coming Sunday morning.

Well, we’ll be putting some more frequent-flyer miles on the credit side of the ledger this weekend. We’re off to Florida for Joe’s 20th high school reunion for his 1988 graduating class from Manatee High School in Bradenton, FL. Nothing like a little blast from the past combined with a Florida vacation to make a trip worthwhile. Will be back Sunday!

There’s been a dearth of posts by us of late…but with good reason. Essentially, our entire household has been ill. Joe had resisted this until recently, but he finally succumbed to whatever’s been afflicting everyone else in the house for a few weeks. Between a 102+ degree fever and the utter malaise that goes along with it, our writing will probably be on the shelf for a couple of days until we (especially Joe) recuperates a bit.
Stay tuned!

It’s once again getting close to all of our family birthdays over the next 2 weeks, so we’re escaping the friendly confines of central Ohio to take both a few days off combined with a job interview for Joe. Since Joe will be finishing his Anesthesiology residency in June 2009, we’ve been actively pursuing different job opportunities both here in Ohio and in the rest of the country. Our next interview stop is Sandusky, Ohio, home to the fabulous Cedar Point amusement park. We will luxuriate at Cedar Point today, then do the interview thang tomorrow and tour the area as well. We’re even having our housing provided while we’re there at a Great Wolf Lodge, which looks pretty amazing in itself. Our postings may be scarce over the next few days, but we’ll be back at it again this weekend. See ya!

Well, I survived it. I made it to Cincinnati and back in one piece. It was a whirl wind adventure filled with action, peppers, sauces, bloggers, and mythical dragons…ok…so there were no dragons but it was still amazing!
Pictured below is the stuff I hauled back from the event so be sure to stay tuned for reviews on those products. Also stay tuned for a blow by blow event review of the 2rd Annual Weekend of Fire and CaJohn’s Open House. I’ve got a ton of pics and a load of funny stories to tell. Saaaaaamme Bat Time! We’re still a few days away from Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire, but I’m psyched! I’ve got my list of vendors, map of the store, directions, places to buy beer, brewery list, bags packed, car gassed up….I’m all set!
I just thought I might post an updated picture of myself so if you see this hairy hippy walking around be sure to stop him and say hi. Just remember, “If you give a chili-head a pepper, he’ll probably want some milk”…..or beer.

Also, last I heard blog owners and Tequila aficionados Joe and Linda will also be making an appearance. I know Linda hates the picture below, but it’s the only one I’ve got. So be sure to talk with them as well! They are really nice people and don’t bite much….honest!

Well, I’ve been known to have jobs of all sorts, I like variety and new skill sets. I’ve worked for the government, been in the restaurant business, a musician, and actor, graphic designer, manager, gardener, landscaper, stuntman, journalist… the list goes on and on. One thing I didn’t expect to be doing or didn’t count on was what I’ve been hired to do now.

You aren’t afraid to share your opinions are you?
Good! ’cause I have a few questions.
Is it okay to post info or talk about other blogs by name? I often see posts that refer to ongoings on other blogs as “on another blog”. Is it okay to say hey check out what’s going on on the Hot sauce blog, or Taste the Fear, or the Hot Pepper, or Head Window licker, or any other site? What about posting recipes on multiple sites? Some sites allow links to other sites, but is it frowned on?
Is it okay for manufacturers to review products? Why/why not?
If you could change one thing about the HZOB, what would it be?
What are the top 3 sauces you are eating right now? Can you describe briefly what each one tastes like? This one could be interesting.
You see this is one of those conversation stimulating pieces I was talking about. I truly want to know what you think. Not that anything will come of it, I am just curious as to what everyones opinion is. There are no right or wrong answers here, just opinions. Let’s hear what you think. Don’t be shy!
