The Hot Zone Online takes hot sauce on a world tour: Let the voting begin!
OK, thanks to the some of the feedback from recent comments and from the Chileheads Facebook group, we can now list the companies who were nominated to have a sauce go on a delightful European adventure this upcoming May. The candidates are:
Rules:
Votes are tallied in one of two ways. Either leave your vote in the comments section of this post, or email us via our Contact Form and state your preference. One vote allowed per person, and no ballot-box stuffing from different IP addresses or email accounts. As the above picture suggests, there will be no hanging chads that affect the voting either.
The voting will go on until tax day, April 15, 2012. Thanks for participating and stay tuned for the results!

I’ve seen this type of vote on another website. It becomes a popularity contest on Twitter and Facebook friends. It does get you some original hits though, so that in itself is a good thing. Good luck. I will stay neutral and not vote on anyone, but I think you should chose something you haven’t had before or a little of everything. That way it aides to your traveling experience.

This is great! Thanks to everyone who is voting. We really wanted this to be a collaborative experience and that’s what we’re getting.
Buddah – by definition, this really IS a popularity contest. All of the people mentioned offer sauces that would enhance our experience. This is NOT meant to get original hits by any means, just to be clear. This really is just about this specific event and we wanted as many people to weigh in on it as possible. Best hot sauce there is, duh. But also, Ol’ Benito is one of the most generous local artisan out there. I am the manager of a student-run, nonprofit grilled cheese deli (FeelGood) which raises money to end world hunger through gourmet sandwiches, and Ol’ Ben has been donating bottles of his hot sauce for the past few years. His loyal support, endless generosity, and friendly partnership has been such a blessing for us. We even created a sandwich to honor them featuring the chipotle-infused maple syrup. It’s a hit!
Boss hot sauce AND a commitment to social justice?? Now that sounds like a winner!

Benito’s is the best . Great sauces and rubs. Love that maple syrup.We first tried his sauces when we were visiting Vermont, nothing that good in Canada!
