New mustard release from Blues BBQ, Inc.

For those of you who don’t know, Steve from Blues BBQ has been a writer for this blog for quite some time. Even given his place in the hot & spicy foods business, the reviews he has done have been scrupulous and spot-on honest. He’s also been hit hard, like some of the rest of us, by the rough state of the economy. So, help a brutha out and check this new product out! Check out the latest info from Steve:
Greetings to all:
I have just introduced today, a new sauce called Chipotle Mustard Pepper Sauce. Think of it as a Smokey, fire hot mustard with a hint of tomato, turmeric, paprika and garlic. This promises to be a best seller. I do not yet know what distributors are going to carry it but should know in a few weeks.
If you want to order, please email me for case and bottle prices. I’ve not yet added this product to my web-site at www.bluesbbq.net but will within a week or so.
Look forward to getting your honest input.

Love the label, Steve! But one thing, I read the ingredients 3 times and mustard isn’t listed. What gives?

I thought the label thang may be my fault, Jon. I used the proof that Steve sent me several days ago, but the new label he sent appears to be the same as that one. I always thought that mustard should probably have a little mustard in it too…;)

Hi Joe, Linda and the infamous Guitar God!
There is going to be a lot of confusion with this one. It isn’t a mustard at all but is a hot sauce with a mustard taste. Truly unique. Pours like a hot sauce and tastes like a smokey, mustardy cayenne hot sauce. I probably should of named it “Blue’s Unique Majic Hot Sauce that somehow tastes like Mustard”. Once ya’ll try it, you’ll know what I mean. You’re gonna like this one!

Sounds intriguing. I’m guessing maybe the turmeric gives it a mustardy flavor? Steve, let me know when it’s officially on the site and I’ll get a bottle. Thanks.

You are right on Scott. It’s the Turmeric and something else.

The sauce is really good stuff. Fantastic flavor, smokey and peppery, good balance, not too hot, and it’d make a great table sauce. It’s not extremely mustardy, and it’s more along the lines of having sweet, Caribbean-inspired notes. Therefore even Passow might be able to tolerate it. I think Steve has a winner on his hands.

“Therefore even Passow might be able to tolerate it. ”
Hmmm…that’s a tough call…I’d be willing to attempt it.
