Passow Goes To The Stadium For Some Salsa

Ok ok, so the title isn’t that creative. You try coming up with two or three titles a week incorporating your last name over a period of a few years and we’ll see how lame some of them come out, hehehe. Stadium Salsa Mexicali Dip was one of the products that I tried at the Weekend of Fire that I thought was so good I had to review it. It doesn’t really have a lot of heat but it tastes great!
Stadium Salsa Mexicali Dip Ingredients: Tomatoes, sour cream, green peppers, Banana Peppers, onions, garlic, sugar, cider vinegar, salt, water, Jalapeno Peppers, black pepper, lemon, parsley, cilantro, xanathan gum.
The label is well designed and I can definitely see this fitting right in on a grocery store shelf. The product within the jar is almost a fleshy color with loads of ingredient chunks sparsed out in the thick dip. Very appetizing!
Right off the bat comes a smooth, sour cream/cheesy flavor then come the tomatoes. After that the green (Bell?) peppers and Jalapenos arrive with a hint of onions following those. The black pepper hits the scene with the parsley and a hint of lemon which slightly tugs at the sides of the mouth. The sugar is more of a trailing after taste and so is the cilantro. I don’t detect the cider vinegar at all which I think is a bonus here and the garlic just kind of floats in and out of the various flavors but doesn’t make it’s presence known. The heat is really non-existent. After literally spooning a bunch into my moth repeatedly I think I detected a slight tingle on the front of my tongue.
I really can’t stress how good of a product this is. The proportions of the ingredients are just right, the thickness is spot on for a dip, the flavor is amazing and the ingredients taste so fresh! This dip is great for both chips and various foods. I found myself using it mostly for dipping the crust of my Famous Passow Pizza into it.
Taste: 9.8, Heat: 0.095

this product does look good on the store shelf. I saw it at Bigg’s the other day and bought a jar of it and the hot salsa. Really tasty products!

I agree! I thought it had cheese in it even after I tasted it but it doesn’t. My wife and I ate the entire jar in one sitting. We bought it at Cub Foods along with a jar of Hot, which has the perfect amount of heat. You can taste the fresh vegetables, awesome!
