Passow Jams With Flaming Joe

It’s been almost a year since I reviewed a product from Flaming Joe’s so I picked up their newest jam for analysis. This is called Strawberry Jalapeno Jam and looks to be packed with strawberry goodness.
Flaming Joe’s Strawberry Jalapeno Jam Ingredients: Sugar, strawberries, Jalapeno peppers, pectin (dextrose, pectin, turmeric acid, calcium citrate), dehydrated orange zest.
Opening the jar up I immediately noticed that this is a thinner style jam compared to his Island Fire, but it does has a nice, deep red color to it with seeds floating around. The strawberry taste is right up front and mixes quite well with the sugar. Up next comes the Jalapeno which have that “green, unripened” taste. There is also a hint of orange zest that floats around in the background.
The heat here is generally what you would expect out of a Jalapeno based product, very mild. It tingles where it hits but dies down quite quickly. Overall, it’s another fantastic jam but I think it would have benefited from ripened Jalapenos. Try it on toast, waffles, English Muffins, or spoon it right out of the jar (which I’m very guilty of doing)!
Taste: 8.1, Heat: 1.43
