Well if you were a vendor for the show, then you already received the email, however the general public may not be aware.

Unfortunately the Festival had to be cancelled this year. It would have been it’s 10th year running and it was not an easy decision for Festival organizer Carol Borge to make.

Among some of the contributing factors were the skyrocketing costs of everything show related, such as rentals, venue, security, electric, etc.

Personal tragedy has also played a part in the decision to pull the plug on the show. The tragic loss of Carol’s stepson in a motorcycle accident made organizing the show that much more difficult.

Our hearts and prayers go out to you Carol and to your family.

Let’s look forward to Houston Hot Sauce Festival 2009! Bigger and better! Which will be moved to a new venue.

For all you Chileheads that planned on attending the show there is still the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival, Sun. Aug. 24th 2008 from 11 AM-5PM and of course Chile Pepper Magazine’s ZestFest running from Fri. Sept 5 to Sun. Sept. 7th.
