The Hot Zone

Spicy snacks that are actually both good and spicy are hard to come by, but Kentucky’s own KP’s Specialty Pepper Products has a formula for products that have every chance at becoming hugely popular. Makers of some novel spicy nuts and a few hot sauces, we became acquainted with them at this past Jungle […]

Blair won’t be able to attend the Weekend of Fire show in person this year, so we at the Hot Zone Online have volunteered our time and efforts to help man the booth for the day on Saturday. So, if you want to find us at the show…one of us may be out wandering the convention center floor while the other will be at the Extremefood.com booth helping sell some of Blair’s products for the day. We’re excited to have the chance to do this, as Blair has offered to donate the proceeds for the day to the Autism charity of our choice.

We also still have some bottles of the Epidemic Proportions sauce left from our promotion last year, so those will be available at the show as well. We may have some other stuff as well, but we’ll wait to see what we have the room to bring with us, so see us at the show for more details!!

No WOF 07, No ZF 07, No FF 08, No WOF 08…

Does Blair go to shows anymore?

The guy is definitely an icon in the hot sauce biz and his heart is in the right place with all the charitable donations, but I bet there were more than a few chileheads going to JJ’s that wanted to meet him.

I remember reading more than a couple times that he doesn’t do a single thing different than when he started making sauce?!? Come on now!

It would be nice to know when Blair can find the time in his schedule to come out and meet the loyal chileheads (chilipals) who buy his products! I don’t feel like he owes anybody anything, just doesn’t seem like he’s is living up to what he says.

I may be out of line here, and if I am please somebody smack me down. I still have a lot of respect for the guy. He makes hot sauce for a living. That’s what I want to do when I grow up!

Opinions? Anyone?

I never met the man, and after calling his number, leaving what I thought would be an important message for his Chilehead fans and then receiving no message back, I don’t want to meet him. All I asked him to do was tell TTF if he could explain if he had any news or plans for Weekend of Fire, and that was because the HSB was in a coma. I wanted to give him an outlet for his company, but instead I got nothing. Well at least he eventually contacted the HZO.

The guy makes enough money, so he does not have to come to these shows anymore. His collectibles were given away by Blane, and we even opened up a 3am. Back in the day, I doubt that would’ve happened If he continues to ignore his fanbase, his so-called collectibles won’t be worth the wax he covers his bottles in. I am not into the star status stuff, I am not into collectibles, I am into friendships. I have made a lot of friends over the past year. I think people had the same with Blair at one time, just not anymore. Let’s see how his next waxed collectible does. Maybe a message will be sent and he will finally decide to answer it in person.
