An unlikely habanero-eating contest
When you can’t get video of a wet t-shirt contest, this will have to do. (OK, so YouTube probably has that…but I digress.) Actually, on a hot sauce and spicy food-themed website such as this, the video we have is just about perfect. What do you get when you mix three sorority-type girls, a bunch of habaneros, and a video camera? Sheer entertainment. Check this video out of a few ladies and their habanero-eating exploits.

Was this a habenero eating contest, or a milk chugging yogurt eating contest?

Wow, I love seeing people in chile pain. I think it would have been better in time lapse though. I also would have liked some video 10 minutes later. The thing that cracks me up the most is the fanning the hand in front of the mouth. I see this every weekend and I always ask, “does that help?” I made someone cry last weekend, well not sobbing cry but a full on tear ran down his face and dripped off his chin. Great post Joe!!! Can we see that again, ‘cept this time in bikinis?

If life was fair, somehow that would totally be possible.

DK…How about a Borat Mankini instead!
I was surprised they didn’t start throwing up from all the milk they where drinking.

I don’t know what’s worse, me offering, or you making a request Big Dawg!

I knew the camo gal was going to win, but it was fun watching the girl in white bounce for 9 minutes.
And the fanning the hand in front of the mouth……I love that also. TOO FUNNY!
Great video Joe!

That was very funny, but way too much yogurt for me, now I would’ve been scared of that. Has anyone tried to do that with habaneros? Just curious if anyone would do that as a challenge?

Ditto. Even “I” don’t drink THAT MUCH milk in pain. You’ve got to enjoy at least some of the more severe pain…you know, get that light headed, I’m going to faint, experience.

Seriously, the large quantity of milk would be the most likely reason to hurl. If anyone enters one of these contests and you need some milk swish it around in your mouth don’t fill your gut with it, that way if you get the hiccups or start to cough you won’t taste the same peppers twice, ewww! Buddah, I will participate but you need to have a cool prize, something a chilihead will covet so that it’s more than me you and Parker chowing down on peppers! Video would be cool too, although I don’t think any of us would be as entertaining to watch bounce.

How the hell did I become the host of a habanero eating contest? I was just asking if anyone ever did this before. I am not sure if I even ate a whole habanero before, let alone a whole plate of them. The last thing I want to do is get into any kind of eating contest after my lapband surgery. Not the wisest thing in the world. As much as I am sure it would be fun to watch, I could see myself wiping my eyes in the middle of the event and screaming as a result of my assclown stupidity.

Amen, brother! How’d you like to slime/pb those puppies? This is the reason I’m not judging the pro chili contest at the North Market this year. I can just imagine being on channel 10 news puking up chili. Not pretty!
