The Hot Zone

Spicy snacks that are actually both good and spicy are hard to come by, but Kentucky’s own KP’s Specialty Pepper Products has a formula for products that have every chance at becoming hugely popular. Makers of some novel spicy nuts and a few hot sauces, we became acquainted with them at this past Jungle […]

I haven’t been reviewing much, as some of you might have noticed. I am sorry for that. I am backlogged and still need to review the sauces that Scotty B and Tahiti Joe sent me back in May. I’m itching to write, but the year from hell has hit a crescendo.

I am moving back to Cleveland, Ohio on December 25. New management has taken over the place I’m living and is sweeping out the old people, moving in new people and that was the only thing keeping me in LA. So instead of live in a town I hate and get a new place and new job, I’m going for that cross country road trip that I’ve always wanted to do!

I’ll be driving from LA to Cleveland on what looks to be a 5 day trek across the states. It usually is 3 days but I’m going to take my time, hit up breweries, steak houses, and some sights along the way. Then in Cleveland I’ll be taking care of my mom who just had shoulder replacement surgery. After that it’s either off to a organic farm for a few months (White Oak Farms in Oregon), a back packing trek across Europe or some other adventure.

That being said, I am not leaving the hot sauce reviewing business. I’ll be picking up where I left off once I’m in Cleveland. This business is too near and dear to me to let a horrible year stop it. I’ve made many friends along the way and I cherish that. I’ll be a two hour drive from Joe and Linda (I sense a hot sauce and tequila party on the horizon) and the beloved CaJohn so I look forward to many fun times and meet ups.

In closing, the adventure continues. I’m taking my cameras so I can post some pictures of the highlights from my trip. If you see a ‘93 Buick Skylark filled to the brim with boxes and see a longphaired, hot sauce loving hippie behind the wheel, be sure to wave. It just might be me!

Will we see you at FFS?

Not 100% sure, but as it stands right now, no I will not be able to make it.
