We appreciate getting this information from Frank Brenner of Lambs Farm that we can pass along to you regarding a neat looking Chili Cookoff event next month. If you are anywhere within 500 miles of Illinois or are a die-hard chili cook, then this event is for you. All proceeds to help support a worthy non-profit organization. Check it out:

-What makes a great bowl of chili? Perfectly roasted peppers, an exotic blend of spices, red wine, bourbon, grilled vegetables, chocolate? The combinations are endless, and this simple, provincial dish can often render delightfully intriguing results.

On Saturday, October 20 at 11:00 am chili chefs from across the Midwest will compete for the title of Grand Champion at the Comcast Chili Challenge at the Barn Burner BBQ at Lambs Farm. Amateur and professional chefs are invited to enter the Chili Challenge and test the limits of their culinary creativity. The competition will be judged by those in attendance at The Barn Burner BBQ. The Barn Burner BBQ will feature a sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society competition, live music, raffles, demonstrations as well as the Comcast Chili Challenge. All the festivities will take place on Lambs Farm’s campus in Libertyville, Illinois.

Lambs Farm is a non-profit organization near Libertyville, Illinois that empowers people with developmental disabilities to lead personally fulfilling lives through a full range of services, residential assistance and social support. All proceeds from the Barn Burner BBQ benefit Lambs Farm’s programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
