The only thing better than trying a Danny Cash sauce is actually spending time with Danny Cash. Instantly, you can tell that this man likes to have fun. That fun shows up in all of his products. Not only is he creative with his ingredients, he is creative in his packaging and marketing as well. So, even before I try this product, I’m going to recommend it. That said, let me get to the review…

Ingredients: fresh mango, red habanero chile peppers, vinegar & sugar

First Impression: It is actually kind of surprising in a good way. You can definitely smell the vinegar pretty strongly and it starts with a bite, but mellows out so smoothly. I would say the texture is somewhat syrupy, so it moves quickly from the bottle. But don’t fear, even if you get more than you want, it’s good. It’s all good. I was really excited to try this with some food.

Taste: Again, it’s got that initial bite. Soon after, you get a really nice taste of mango and then it just kind of fades. This makes wanting more of it kind of a tease. Despite that there’s sugar in this sauce, it finishes kind of salty. It’s really interesting and different in that way. Definitely not like any other mango sauces I’ve tried and definitely one at the top of my list, especially because of its diversity. I’ve said all that without mentioning the spice level. It’s part of that first bite. It mellows down quite a bit though, which makes using more of it pretty darned easy. I don’t get a whole lot of Habanero taste from it, but the heat is there.

Overall Recommendation: This is the fun part. I really loved how diverse this sauce was. I used it with chili. I used it with black beans and cheese. I used it as salad dressing. I used it and used it and used it. There is one thing I think this sauce would be well suited for, that I can’t try as of yet. I think it would be an outstanding addition to drinks…especially a mango margarita. Hey, if anyone out there tries it, please let me know how it is so I can live vicariously through you. In general I think that this is an incredible, and very different (again, in a good way) mango hot sauce. Oh, and if you see Danny…tell him I said, “Hi.”
