Fans of Texas Pete hot sauce apparently now have more choices. Admittedly, we don’t use a lot of this brand save when we’re out of the house away from our stash of hot sauces…but we’ve been known to use this sauce on occasion. Certainly, it’s a brand that is ubiquitous in nearly every grocery store in this area. Check out this article from the Winston-Salem Journal for more details on TP’s latest release:

The wait is over for Texas Pete fans who want to take their taste buds to the extreme.

T.W. Garner Food Co. of Winston-Salem is introducing Hotter Hot Sauce and Garlic Hot Sauce - its first new hot-sauce flavors in nearly 10 years.

“We’re responding to consumer demand and competition with these flavors,” Frank Sherrill, the vice president of sales, said yesterday.

“The Hotter Hot Sauce is three times hotter than the regular hot sauce. It’s meant for those whose taste buds have become desensitized to the heat or who want something hotter than hot.

“The Garlic Hot Sauce is our response to the popularity of garlic as a flavor enhancer,” he said.

The new flavors represent another branching out for the closely held company, which was incorporated in 1946 but whose roots date back to 1929 and a Depression-era barbecue stand.
