Blair’s Jalapeno Death Sauce Ingredients: Fresh Jalapeno chilies, vinegar, tomatillos, fresh garlic, key lime juice, shallots, olive oil, sea salt, cilantro, cane sugar, onions, tequila, spices, xanathan gum.
Leave it to Blair to create a sauce with this many complex ingredients. From the color, to the taste, this is one really green sauce. Blame the tomatillos, unripened Jalapenos, and cilantro for that. It comes really close to being slightly too green but doesn’t cross that line, thankfully, which makes this a perfect candidate for omelets.
The tequila complements the tomatillos well and adds a little more kick to the Jalapenos. But don’t buy this sauce looking for major tequila flavor (Joe and Linda, I’m looking at you) because the flavor is very subtle.
This sauce is mild enough that everyone will enjoy it, even your pet dog (this idea is not endorsed by the writers of The Hot Zone Online and PETA. Did you know PETA stands for People Eating Tasty Animals? True story). This was the first sauce that I fed my friend’s dog, Tigger, who is a 63-pound American Staffordshire Terrier. I put some on my finger and had him lick it off. Three seconds later his eyes went wide and he did one loud bark at me, then promptly laid on his back, feet in the air, squirming around for about 30 seconds.
After that show was finished, I let him sniff the bottle. He showed his teeth, snorted and walked away. Ten minutes later, he was back for more. Since then, we’ve feed him El Yucateco, Blue’s Habanero Reserve, and Stairway to Hell. Thanks Blair, you’ve turned the dog into a chili-head.

Nope, not much salt in the sauce. Actually, it blends in quite well with the tomalillos.
