Caption This, Fiery Foods Festival Stylin’
This shameless picture was captured of CaJohn as he was in the midst of the Professional Chili Challenge as he dueled with other chili chefs for the championship for 2007. While he didn’t triumph (more on that later), it can be said that only he can wear something like this and get away with it.
This is a photo that desperately needs a caption. I’m sure there’s no shortage of ones that should be forthcoming from our dedicated readers. Bring it on!
CaJohn has graciously agreed to send some salsa (see comment below) and a signed bottle of this sauce seen below to the person with the winning caption. Winner to be decided on Friday, February 23.

We all should be ashamed of ourselves for making fun of this fine man.
Let me fill you in on a little secret. Let me see, how can I say this without further damage to this poor man. Ok, here it is. You see, John is blind and his wife dresses him this way when she takes him to her Red Hat Society meetings. Instead of decorating the meeting room, the ladies simply put CaJohn in the corner to add a splash of color to the room. Quote from CaJohn’s wife, “John prefers the Red Hat Society meetings over the childrens Pinatta parties”. She also rents him out for Pin the tail on the donkey parties, and has even had requests for using him as a “Living Flower” arrangement at chilehead funerals.
