It is now T-minus two days until this year’s North Market Fiery Foods Festival for 2007!

It was nice to see that our very own Columbus Dispatch online printed an article about it yesterday. You can see the source article HERE, but here is an excerpt from it for you to read:

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Do you like to eat chili when the weather is chilly? Do you like other spicy foods, too? Do foods that are too spicy for you make you break into a sweat, your mouth burn, your eyes water and your nose run?

For that you can thank a substance called capsaicin (pronounced cap-SAY-sin). It is the flavorless, odorless chemical found in chili peppers that gives them their heat and causes all of those reactions.

Despite sometimes bringing tears to our eyes, foods with that peppery zip are loved by many. People around the world make all kinds of recipes that include chili peppers or hot sauces made from peppers to add a kick to their cuisine!

The North Market Fiery Foods Festival is free.

The North Market is located at 59 Spruce St.

For more information, call 614-463-9664 or visit www.northmarket.com

More about this tomorrow! Stay tuned!
