Anyhow, as we mentioned before in a previous post…we did a road trip down to Cincinnati this past weekend to spend some time with some dear friends. We managed to make it up to Jungle Jim’s for a little hot sauce shopping, but our trip didn’t go exactly as planned. First of all, we had issues with our camera in terms of pictures…as in we weren’t able to take any. Secondly, we finally slogged through the store just in time to miss hot sauce guru Bret who had just left for a break. Lastly, our two kids were just starting to get a little cranky which gave us limited time to spend there in the hot sauce nirvana at JJ’s. We did manage to meet some very cool people who were there, shopping and tasting just like we were. When all was said & done, we made a few choice selections and high-tailed it towards the checkout lines.
Our list of swag obtained during our shopping trip:
Matouk’s West Indian Flambeau Sauce
Hula Girl Red Jalapeno Sauce
Ass Kickin’ Wasabi Horseradish Hot Sauce
Dave’s Hurtin’ Habanero Hot Sauce
Ace Hot Sauce by CaJohn
Smokey Chipotle Pepper Sauce by Montezuma Brand
Marie Sharp’s Habanero Pepper Sauce - Fiery Hot
Marie Sharp’s Habanero Pepper Sauce - No Wimps Allowed
Marie Sharp’s Orange Pulp Habanero Sauce
Talon Hot Sauce by CaJohn
Not Cool Organic Hickory Smoked Habanero Pepper Sauce
Ron Howard’s This Ain’t Opie’s Hot Sauce by Howard’s Yummies
4 pack of Dave’s Gourmet mini hot sauces
Toxic Tonic by THT
Blair’s Death Rain Nitro
The first six (plus the Dave’s Insanity Sauce minis) on the above list are ones we actually purchased to give as gifts, but the rest are ones we plan to try, use, and review.

We were sorta excited to finally find a bottle of the Blair’s Death Rain Nitro. We’ve seen tons of the regular Habanero, but hadn’t been able to find the Nitro until now. We also made sure to get an extra bottle of the Matouk’s for ourselves.

Even though CaJohn’s is here in town, we grabbed a bottle of Talon there as well. The mixture of red savina and fatalii peppers in a hot sauce was too tempting a mixture to pass up. Also, the Howard’s Yummies and Not Cool sauces had some unique ingredients, so we look forward to tasting those as well.
Between these and the 2 dozen or so other ones we have here unopened and in queue, we should be set for a while. That is, until our next road trip to Jungle Jim’s…

I love Jungle Jim’s. I really need to make a trip down that way before Christmas.
