Blog synergy at ZestFest

Joe and Nick finally meet!
One of the cool thing about attending ZestFest was the people we had the opportunity to meet in person. There may have been the perception that we and the HSB, who report on similar things in the hot and spicy food world, don’t get along. Nothing could be further from the truth! We love what they do (and read it every day), so we hope that warm & fuzzy feelings are mutual. If not warm & fuzzy, then anything congenial is fine with us. It was cool to meet Nick for the first time there in Texas, and hope to chat with him some more at future industry events.

Another person we finally got to meet in person was Ryan Davis. Ryan created the logo for our swanky new business cards which debuted at ZestFest, so his help was invaluable in making that happen. Besides that, his wife Sonia (aka Sanyo) also makes some neat-looking hot sauce…so we picked up a few bottles for our very own. Signed editions, too. We might just have to open one of those signed ones to taste it, though. Strangely enough, we know where we can get some more….
Many more reports from our time at ZestFest to come in the next few weeks. We have lots of pics, some videos, and a lot of new products & companies to report upon. Stay tuned!

Damnit, Jon. It’s supposed to be a secret hat…not a known hat. It’s all about the head gear, man. LMAO
UGH…sorry to be all weird…it’s been a long week. Is it vacation time yet? Seriously. I bet very few people knew that Joe and I were dealing with stomach issues/flu/poison/hell at ZestFest. And, while that was going on, our new puppy and our babysitter were attacked by a hive of bees on Friday. We found out when she called us during the banquet to tell us she was rushing the pup to the emergency vet. That very day, Ari had gotten sick. By Saturday night he was better, but then Joshie was getting sick. When Joshie gets sick it goes right to his lungs. So, on our way to the airport at 5:30am on Sunday, we get a call from the sitter again saying that Joshie was barely breathing. All is starting to settle down now, but, shit, it was a wild ride.
Now that I hijacked our own post, I’d have to say that it would be really hard to hate anyone at the HSB. Again, the people were the best part of the weekend and HSBers were no exception.

Shesh….you guys had a rough time. All we had to deal with was king-hell hangovers.

Meanwhile I’m in Toronto freezing my patootie off wishing I was getting a hangover.
Glad to hear you all had a great time!

I just stopped by and saw the pics and such. Thanks for putting those up! Beeen trying to collect as many as I can for my personal memories…seeing that most of ZF is still fuzzy. I propose that the show from here on out be called “Beer Fest”, cause frankly, I consumed far more beer than anything else there! It was an honor and a privilege to finally meet you guys there. Thanks for adding the link to my site! In the process of updating it, so for those of you that visit, sorry if anything looks funky. Joe, Linda, Chuck, you guys all rock!

Man, I wish I was there. That was one of the most fun weekends I’ve ever had back in ‘06.
