For those of you who read and visit this blog regularly, you may have noticed that this site was in shambles for a few days. Last Thursday, our server was hacked and lots of damage happened…gutting the template of this site. Not a problem to fix if you have backups, right?

Uh, you would think so…but not with us.

Our sad excuse for a web host allowed not only the server to be compromised, but allowed our most recent backup to be corrupted. Upon restoration, all (and we do mean ALL) the posts were gone. As in completely gone.

After resisting the urge to take a human life somewhere, somehow, we began to pick up the pieces. Our awesome web developer had a full copy of our site, but its last update was back in January 2006. So, we got to go through the painstaking process of recovering all of the posts that were lost. One…at…a…time.

After almost non-stop web searching and re-loading, we’ve recovered most of our data. We will recover about 95% of the data. Yeah, we’ve lost a few posts…but for us to get back to where we were before the big crash is making us feel a lot better. And we’ll be doing our OWN backups, thank you very much.
